Teacher's Appreciation Breakfast - A Thank You Note from the School

On behalf of the staff at University Hill, please allow me to express our sincere THANK YOU for the wonderful breakfast the PAC prepared for us on Monday, June 5th. We are so pleasantly surprised every year with the amount and variety of food the parents prepare for us, and this year was no exception! This annual tradition is one of the many reasons we feel fortunate to work at a school with such an active parent group that supports the work we do. The time and effort that went into staging the breakfast so early in the morning is very much appreciated by us all. Please pass along this message to ALL of the parent volunteers who helped with this event.

I would also like to take this opportunity to express our gratitude to the parents for your patience and understanding during this difficult year of job action. Believe me when I say, we would much rather enjoy a harmonious relationship with our employer and continue with our regular duties of preparing report cards, meeting with parents and continuing our extra-curricular activities. It has been a stressful year working to protect the teachers' rights enshrined in our Collective Agreement, but also to protect our students' learning environment, which feels increasingly threatened by enforced legislation. Whatever the outcome, be assured that the staff is committed to doing our best to help your daughters and sons achieve success. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions.

Once again, our heartfelt thanks for all your support.

Sincerely,

Robert Bordon
Staff Representative
